DISH Begins To Replenish Its Executive Ranks

Over the past year or so DISH Network has shown a lot of their executives the door. Recently, they have finally begun to replenish those ranks. The company just announced that they have hired Suma Nallapati as senior VP and chief digital officer.

Nallapati has a long history of excellence in the tech industry. Prior to accepting this position, she was serving as the secretary of technology and State CIO for the state of Colorado. According to Multichannel News, before Nallapati joined Governor Hickenlooper’s cabinet in 2014, she served as associate VP of service delivery at Catholic Health Initiatives. She also previously worked at TeleTech as global director of enterprise applications.

John Swieringa, executive VP and chief operating officer for Dish spoke with Multichannel News about the importance of this hire, and what Nallapati will be focusing on during her first few months at DISH. According to Swieringa, “Suma’s mission is to ensure Dish is well positioned with the applications and platforms that deliver a best-in-class customer and employee experience for our current businesses, and set the stage for our future wireless business,”.

Nallapati’s hire is hot on the heels of that of Atilla Tinic. The former CenturyLink executive who now serves as senior VP and chief information officer for DISH Network. Swieringa also released a statement about Atilla when the hire was first announced. “Atilla has proven that he can lead technology organizations that deliver innovation, plus he possesses that sense of adventure we look for in a leader,” read the statement. “His track record of business partnership will serve our enterprise today, as well as our future wireless business.”.

These two major hires are hot on the heels of recent executive departures at DISH Network. Restaffing those positions with such qualified candidates is a good sign for the company. It is not unreasonable to expect to see more hire announcements in the near future.
