It really doesn’t matter much where you are in the world, chances are you’re near a large group of people who are incredibly excited about the World Cup. This is the first World Cup event since Brazil hosted in 2014. This time around, Russia is the host of the tournament. DISH announced that they will be offering World Cup coverage throughout the entire tournament in 4K. The matchups will be shown on channel 540 and the 4K signals can be viewed with Hopper 3 DVRs. Of course, it is also worth mentioning that even if you have a Hopper 3, you still need a 4K capable television to enjoy 4K content.
If you are a DISH Network customer, and also a big World Cup fan, than you need to have Soccer Zone app. The app is available through July 14 on all Hopper devices that are actively connected to the internet. You can download Soccer Zone from DISH’s feature apps menu, GameFinder App or via channel 835.
The app will help customers keep close tabs on all the World Cup matches, and makes it really easy to watch or record any game you want. The app also lets users select their favorite countries, view stats and scores from previous matches and even lets you track teams through a bracket of the tournament that is constantly updated.
Naturally, DISH is not the only OTT provider looking to provide great World Cup content. Most notably, Hulu is also offer live and on-demand coverage of the entire World Cup tournament. In fact, Hulu has already added a World Cup Hub tab to their service that shows all live and upcoming games, as well as highlights from games that have already happened. They even have a “Team Collection” section where viewers can compile the coverage of their favorite teams and make sure those games are automatically recorded for them.
The World Cup is one of the largest sporting events in the world outside of the Olympics. Coverage is important and it’s great to see DISH making the tournament such a priority with all the incredible features they’re offering.
